Global GHS project

GHS labels with StoryTeller and optimized control over printers

ghs symbolerFor a customer with hundreds of label printers from different manufacturers spread all over the world, Doctricks has implemented OpenText StreamServe Storyteller for a GHS labeling project. GHS stands for “Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals” and it requires very precise control over layout details. Eg: Labels with multiple languages, dynamic pictograms (see picture) and brand management.

On top of this, Doctricks built a simple function for increased control of various print parameters to be able to handle pre-printed label rolls, the orientation of printing, tray control and other necessary optimizations to get good and reliable performance when printing on a device that is on the other side of the globe.

With this solution in place, the customer has simplified their design process of the labels (for multiple developers) and reduced the testing time needed when introducing new printers or labels.

Here you can see an example of a GHS label.
